Anette has sourced objects originating from all over the world to fill her store; France, Morocco, Egypt, Mexico, Italy and New Zealand, but the favourite place that adds that 'distinctively different' element to Le Havre Collections is Morocco.
Buying trips to this colourful, French influenced country has resulted in shipments of goodies arriving in Mapua.
Anette has a very dear friend, an expat Kiwi, who lives in Morocco and together they go shopping in the Souks and Medinas for the treasures that the skilled Artisans so passionately manufacture.
Le Havre Collections is set in an old cool store located on the wharf at Mapua – an exciting destination close to Nelson in New Zealand's South Island.
Aptly named, 'Le Havre Collections' captures the spirit of its wharf side location whilst at the same time hinting at the style of the shop itself.
Le Havre is a seaport city in northwest France that has a long history based around trade.
The Mapua Cool stores offer the perfect oasis for Le Havre Collections, warm in winter and cool in the summer. The open space and crisp white walls compliment the shop's interior beautifully.
The building itself is an attraction of its own. It is hard to imagine it once stocked to overflowing with apples ready to be shipped far and wide when it almost seems to have been made with Anette's creation in mind.
So, if you are heading to the Nelson region make sure you pay Anette, her husband Graeme and their three friendly dogs Millie, Harry and Coco a visit at Le Havre Collections. They promise you a very warm, welcome and a pleasurable shopping experience.
